We’re after a couple of friendly folks to help keep the good ship Boneshaker sailing:

RETAIL WONK (FREELANCE)

Boneshaker is on the look out for an enthusiastic admin pixie to help manage our web shop from Jan 2016 onwards. This will include recording and shipping orders, being friendly to customers (mainly by email), selecting and ordering new stock, and promoting the web shop across social media.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

An understanding of Boneshaker: We’re looking for someone who gets Boneshaker, understands the cut of our jib and shares our passion for bikes, cycling and open-mindedness.

Spreadsheetmongering: Experience in a similar role would help. Good organisational skills and an aptitude for spreadsheets are essential. Consistency and a keen attention to detail are also key.

Sell! Sell! Sell! You capitalist swine! We’d like you to bring more people to the web shop and present the stuff we sell in an attractive way – some skills with words and being handy with a camera would help with this.

It’s nice to be nice: Dealing with customers: being friendly goes a long way.

Looking good: We’d like you to help find new stuff (mainly by illustrators whose work would make good bicycle art prints), liaise with the artists involved and arrange for their work to be sold in our web shop.

Where? You’ll need to be Bristol based. Hours can be flexible, probably only a day a week, with extra hours when new issues are released (April and October) and in the run-up to Christmas. The work is offered on a freelance basis and you can split the hours between your own home and the Boneshaker bike cave – the stock is stored there, so you’ll need to come in at least once a week though. We’d pay on a share-of-sales basis – the better you are at it, the more you’d get.

NB – Boneshaker is a not-for-profit passion project. We do this for the love, because we believe in bicycles as a force for good and advocacy matters to us. If you get Boneshaker, you’ll understand.

DISTRIBUTION WONK (FREELANCE, FOREVER AND EVER)

Boneshaker is on the look out for an enthusiastic person to oversee the distribution of our magazine to stockists. We have over 100 of these in 25+ countries around the world.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

An understanding of Boneshaker: We’re looking for someone who gets Boneshaker, understands the cut of our jib and shares our passion for bikes, cycling and open-mindedness.

Spreadsheetmongering: This is a job for natural organisers. Experience in a similar role would help. Meticulous spreadsheet skills are essential. Consistency and a keen attention to detail are also key.

Nice to be nice: We work with some outside distribution people, so you’ll need to liaise with them in a friendly and professional way, as well as the stockists we deal with directly. This involves invoicing and stuff.

Getting it out there: Another key part of the role is identifying, contacting and chasing up potential new stockists so our circulation grows.
